This takes place on the first Sunday in September. This majestic pageant is a re-enactment of a medieval joust and has been held for literally hundreds of years.
On the first Sunday in September each year, teams march through the ancient streets of Arezzo’s historic city center. Each team is outfitted in a different medieval costume and each represents a different section of the city. Even the horses are attired in medieval costume. Flags furl, bands play and crowds gather to celebrate this tradition.
